Our Services
Fernwood offers tailored training for real families and real dogs. Every dog, household, and handler is different, so each service is customized to what you actually need—not a one-size-fits-all script
-
Start with the essentials or sharpen what your dog already knows.
Personal training is ideal for puppies, adult dogs, and seniors.
We can work on:
Everyday obedience
Leash manners
House manners (jumping, chewing, door rushing, etc.)
Confidence building and calm behavior in busy environments
The goal: a dog you can live with comfortably, not just a dog that performs on command.
-
Some problems don’t show up in public. You might have a smaller dog that primarily lives in the house and yard.
In-home is perfect for the unwanted behaviors that happen in and around the home.
Working with a dog where the problems originate is less stressful and more productive for creating positive long-term habits.
Those can include:
Boundary reactivity and excessive territorial barking.
Resource guarding around furniture, people, other dogs, toys, or food.
Multi-dog Household issues.
Submissive or confused urination.
Dogs that are too reactive, shut down, or spiral in public spaces.
I come to your home, assess the stressors and dynamics. I design a realistic plan around your space, schedule, and your dog.

Training doesn’t end after a package or a few sessions—it never really ends. You’ll have great streaks and off days. The goal is to have clear skills and routines you can fall back on so you and your dog can reset and move forward.
*I enjoy seeing my clients succeed and thrive. Pricing is scaled and dependent.
Touch-up Sessions are best for:
Progress Checkups
Refreshing timing marks and corrections.
Reevaluating and correcting technique.
Evaluating the “sturdiness” of core commands and sequences
Troubleshooting new behaviors as your dog matures and your life changes.
*Touch-up sessions are only available for prior clients.

Good training needs good tools. A flimsy leash or poorly fitted collar can undo a lot of work.
During a gear consult, we can:
Review what you already own
Fit and adjust collars, harnesses, and leashes
Decide what you actually need (and what you don’t)
Go over how to use tools safely and effectively
I keep a small inventory of loaner gear for clients and a list of reliable essentials that support our work together.
I’m not sponsored or paid by any brands I recommend—if it’s on my list, it’s because it works.
-
Group sessions build obedience and social skills. You and your dog learn together in a controlled, real-world setting alongside a small group of other teams.
Expect to work on:
Focus around distractions
Polite greetings with people and dogs
Handling new environments and stressors
Classes are first-come, first-served. We typically meet on Saturday mornings in a large Cleveland Metropark.
Requirements:
Dog is on leash at all times
Appropriate, secure gear
Up-to-date on required vaccinations
I usually work with 3–4 dogs per group, depending on temperament, size, and handler skill level. This keeps things safe and productive for everyone.
